SG stands for specific gravity, a measure of how dense a liquid is compared to water. Water sits at 1.0 SG. A 1.5 SG rating means the tank is built to safely hold liquids up to 1.5 times the weight of water, which covers most liquid fertilisers. The extra-heavy walls carry that load without bulging or splitting.
It isn't recommended. Liquid fertiliser is denser than water, so it puts far more pressure on the tank walls than rainwater does. Our liquid fertiliser storage tanks are made with heavier walls and rated to 1.5 SG for exactly this reason. A standard rainwater tank is not built for that weight.
Every tank arrives ready to fill. As standard, you get a top fill kit, a Liquidator level indicator kit so you can read your volume at a glance, a hinged and vented lid, and a 2" welded fitting at the base for drawing off (an optional 3” welded fitting is available). The 16,000L Full Drain adds complete, residue-free emptying.
All RapidPlas tanks 9,000L and above are delivered free to site within our standard delivery zones, and every fertiliser tank sits well above that mark. For the 32,000L OrbSpan, some locations may need permits or a pilot vehicle due to road restrictions. It's rare, so talk to our sales team about your site upfront.
Check the tank and fittings over regularly, and flush the tank and lines through when you change products or at the end of the season. A quick annual once-over of the tank, fittings and connections will keep it performing for years.
